Vaccination Coverage and Goals
Maintaining high vaccine coverage is necessary to protect against vaccine-preventable diseases that can cause serious morbidity and mortality. As part of the National Immunization Strategy, Canada has set vaccination coverage goals and vaccine-preventable disease reduction targets to achieve its commitment towards the elimination of vaccine-preventable diseases.
