"The primary objective of this statement is to review the evidence on the effectiveness and safety of additional dose(s) of MMR vaccine when provided in mumps outbreak settings, including the off-label administration of a third dose of MMR vaccine (MMR3) in individuals who were previously vaccinated with two valid doses. A literature and environmental evidence review was undertaken to develop recommendations for the use of additional dose(s) of MMR vaccine in mumps outbreak settings." - Public Health Agency of Canada
